IALT manage my time well so I complete all my “MUST Do” SML Tasks each week
What has been going well? Reading, writing and maths because it is fun and challenging.
What have I been learning to do to get the tasks done? To focus well on my learning.
Which tasks have I completed well? Kiwi kids news and spelling.  Why? Because I am focusing on them more.
Which tasks have been challenging? The hard spelling activities. Why? Because it is hard and challenging.
What are some other bonus tasks I would like to do? Passion drawing. So you draw something you like and then give 6 facts about your drawing.
My next step is…….. To do the hardest task first.

Music Bullying rap

WALT: To compose and create a rap (with beat if possible) about bullying.

We had to choose 6 lines on a piece of paper and choose 2 words from each 6 lines. It was hard because we had choose lots of rhyming words.This a link to my bullying rap.

How did you go about achieving this? It was challenging but I manged to get it half done.
What resources were used to help you? A piece of paper and a device
Did you go through the process on your own or collaborate with other people? I did it with someone.
How did you find the process? A little hard
What did you enjoy most about the process of creating a rap? Creating the rap.

What  might be your next step? Probably to finish my rap.



When I woke up in the morning I went to school.

I ran away crying in pain.
I went to the teacher and she said are you okay.

and the teacher said those bully are so so bad.
I am shore they a so glad that they have so much power.

My friends said they will lend me a hand.

Maths - Measurement

Can find perimeters, areas and volumes of simple shapes. This is my learning goal because it is in my to be achieved box of my AsTTle learning pathway or it is a goal from the Year 6 (5,7 ) standard.

I learnt about perimeter and area.

Perimeter is the distance AROUND the shape. To find the perimeter of a shape you add together all of the sides.

Area is the units INSIDE the shape. To find the area you need to multiply length x height.

Examples:

The rectangle is 6cm by 4cm.

Perimeter = 6+6=12 and 4+4=8 so 12+8=20cm

Area = 6x4=24cm squared

I’ve enjoyed doing the Hip Hop routine because it is fun and interesting to learn.


I’ve been challenged by holding a girls hand in Cha cha.


I learnt to do the strut, mexicon wave, the double jump and the punch and from the Cha cha the new York, the train, the basic step and the backwards new York.

I can see: the egg cracking slowly.  
I can see:  the waves rolling in and out.

I can hear: the tide coming in and out.
I can hear the rock cracking slowly.  

I can smell: the salty water getting closer and going away.

I can feel: the rough surface on the egg.

I can taste: the salty air going into my mouth

As I walk across the beach I see lots of rocky meteors  coming from space. Boom! Bang! I run away, trying not to get hit by the meteors.    
I can see a big crack in the rock, I think it is a dinosaur. When I look across the beach I can see the waves rolling in and out. When I look back at the rock I see lots of gel-like slime.
I can hear the tide coming in and out. When I look at the rock again, I can hear the rock cracking slowly. I can hear the strong wind blowing the sand.
I can smell the stinky slime coming from the rock. I can smell the salty sea air. I can smell lots of fish and wavy seaweed.
I can feel the strong wind blowing on me.   can feel the rough surface on the rock. I can feel the wind blowing sand in my face.
I can taste the salty sand when I breath in and out. I can taste tiny pebbles in my mouth as the rock cracks. I can taste the salty water hanging in the air.

As I look across the sea and back at the rock. BOOM! The rock explodes and out comes a DINOSAUR!

Writing/the jealous Griffon

WALT:I can use a text structure that is appropriate to the purpose.  

                              The jealous Griffin

Once upon a time there lived a Griffin in the jungle. One day Lion and Elephant got new devices for BYOD to school. When the 9:00 bell rang for school Mr Owl said “come in class”. Griffin got a little bit jealous about It because he didn’t have one. So when everyone went out for lunch time Griffin quickly took the two devices and hid them in his desk. When lion and elephant went to the cupboard to get their devices they  were not there. So they went home and told their parents that they lost their devices. The next morning Hippopotamus brought her new bike to school . She asked Griffin “do you like my bike?”. So when hippo went outside for lunch Griffin quickly went to the bike stand and hid hippo’s bike in a bush. When the school bell rang hippo went to get her bike but it wasn’t there. So hippo went home and told her parents that her bike was lost. The next morning Lion’s, Elephant’s and Hippo’s parents came and told the principal that Lion and Elephants devices and Hippo’s bike were stolen. Griffin saw that her friends parents were talking about where their things were. So Griffin came into the office and said it was me I hid your stuff. The principal asked where did you hide  their things. So Griffin took them to Lion and Elephants devices. After that Griffin took them to where he had hidden the bike. Then Griffin forgot which bush had the bike, so Hippo guessed which bush  and she got it right. Then the principal said “why did you steal their things” “because I was jealous” “I am really sorry can you forgive me guys” . They said “yes”. So when someone got a cool thing Griffin never stole a thing again.

the Mirror in the Attic

WALT write a “moment in time” piece of writing.

I can see:
A magic mirror that swirls in spirels.
I can hear:
A vibrating sound

I can smell:
Nothing because my nose is blocked from sneezing after breathing in all the dust.
I can smell lots of dust .  
I can feel:
I can touch slimy gel
I can feel gel like water.

I can taste:
Particles of fluffy dust in my mouth
Fluffy dust that is yuck


Sarah kneels carefully in front of the mirror curious about what might happen.

She sees a magic mirror that looks like water that swirls in spirals.

She hears a vibrating sound when she touches it.

She smells lots of dust that looks like fluffy particles which does not smell good.

Sarah tastes lots of tiny particles of dust that don’t taste good.

She feels slimy gel when she touches the mirror.

Sarah is the only one in her family that can see the mirror’s magical things.

Learning Plan Review

Multicultural Week

WHAT: I was involved in a range of learning experiences for Multicultural week.


I did lots of fun activities and learned about different countries. I got to have a Henna design on my hand. It was a NZ fern. I enjoyed learning about Israel and I learnt that their are more people in Israel then NZ. When I saw the Russian alphabet it was a little hard to read. I learnt that the dead sea in Israel helps your skin. I enjoyed the activities we did on Friday. The fact I was most fascinated by was that one building that was made out of wood without any nails that won't fall down. A question I have is how did did the Russians have the idea to build the wooden church with no nails.
